Job Responsibilities • Schedule and perform/lead QA audits as required by QA procedures and comply with established audit data collection and reporting requirements. • Oversee and guide production and quality assurance efforts at factories and vendors to ensure compliance with company and or account quality specifications and production timelines. • Interface as necessary with account audit teams/inspectors to solve QA issues. • Influence, and when necessary, train and guide vendor/factory managers and their quality assurance personnel to adopt methods and procedures which will achieve quality and production goals. • Assist factories interpret the sample request and construct samples which can be produced in bulk with a minimum of production issues. • Where necessary provide guidance in interpreting QA materials and helping to embed them into factory operating procedures. • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of QA staff (and vendor personnel) and act to address weaknesses identified – as it relates to QA. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) Given the hands on nature of this position the following KSA’s are considered necessary: • Five or more years of QA audit supervisor/team leader experience in the soft goods sewn products manufacturing industry, preferably in children’s bedding and apparel. Experience in fabric/product embellishment would a distinct advantage (printing, embroidery, etc). • Experience in QA which covers the major areas of production – cutting, sewing and finishing, plus exposure to working in a company which had a well developed and rigorous statistical QC program in place. • Possess technical knowledge and experience sufficient to be able to diagnose fabric and construction problems and develop practical solutions. • Possess strong communication skill to work effectively with QA staff and all levels of personnel within the company and also with factory personnel. • Ability to develop and build strong working relationships with factory personnel (worker, supervisor, factory manager). • Able to deal with conflicting priorities. • Computer literate – able to utilize Microsoft Office products • Possess fluent written and spoken Mandarin and English. Education A high school diploma. Technical training in the textile and sewn products industry would be an advantage. |
